Editing Event Triggers

In the Vodafone Business Managed IoT Connectivity Platform, preconfigured triggers ensure an action – or event – happens when a predefined metric, such as voice duration or data usage, reaches a predefined threshold. These triggers are known as event triggers. They can be associated with different customer levels or entities, such as an individual SIM, an APN, or even an entire account hierarchy, allowing granular or aggregated control over how and when actions are executed.

You can edit many of the details of these triggers within the platform by following the steps below – as long as you have the required authorisation level.

How to edit event triggers

  1. From the menu on the left of the Vodafone Business Managed IoT Connectivity Platform Dashboard or home page, select Event Triggers.

  2. This takes you to the Event Triggers page, where you can search for an event trigger using filters such as Organisation Name and Event Status.

  3. To edit an event trigger, click on it to open the Details window, where you update details in three sections: Information, Configuration, and Actions.

  4. Click on the relevant line to edit a specific detail of the event trigger. Not all fields can be edited; certain aspects, such as Event Metric and Entity Type, are shown on a view only basis. And while some details such as Status can simply be enabled or disabled, others can be modified using dropdown menus.

  5. Once you have finished, select Save (in the top right corner) to save your changes or Discard to discard them.
