Sending SMS
Sending an SMS to a SIM is easy on the Vodafone Business Managed IoT Connectivity Platform - simply follow the steps below.
To send an SMS
This quick access menu enables you to send an SMS to the SIM. There are currently 2 types of SMS types that you can send:
- Wake-up
- Payload
The Wake-up SMS can be given settings for the below by using the Advanced Configuration 
.
- Validity Period
- Priority1023px
- Overwrite permission
The Payload SMS can be given settings for the below by using the Advanced Configuration .
- Encoding
- Validity Period
- Priority
- Message UDH
- Overwrite permission
In addition, the Payload SMS can contain a 160 character free-text message.
If the Vodafone Business Managed IoT Connectivity Platform fails to send the SMS, you can resend it. This will attempt to send the same SMS instead of requiring the creation of a new SMS. However, this is not available for SIMs in the Inactive state.
