Setting a P2P SMS ACL
P2P (peer-to-peer) is a communication model that allows computers and hardware devices to exchange files. To manage the access control for P2P SMSs, an Access Control System is responsible for ensuring that SMS is only transacted between non-IoT SIMs which are specifically permitted through Access Control Lists (ACLs).
ACLs are created, owned, and updated by the customer under Administration in the Access Lists tab. You can associate ACLs with a SIM or a CSP. To create an Access Control List, request assistance from your operator administrator or refer to the appropriate user guide.
You can then set a P2P SMS Access Control List to link a single SIM to a specific device by following the steps below.
To set a P2P SMS ACL
From the menu on the left of the Vodafone Business Managed IoT Connectivity Platform Dashboard or home page, select SIMs.
This takes you to the SIM List, where you can select a SIM to view the SIM Details window.
Choose Single SIM Operation - Set P2P access list from the dropdown menu that appears when you click on New Action in the top right corner of the SIM Details window. (This action can also be performed by clicking on … next to the name of the SIM in the SIM List.)
